Pigeon shooting in Raby

We have the pleasure of being able to offer pigeon shooting on one of the largest estates in England, which is only an hours drive from Newcastle. The estate covers 30,000 ha. In addition to the pigeon

  • An ideal district for wood pigeon
  • Our hunters have had really good results here
  • The result can be affected by the weather, wind, the development of the seasons crops and the ability of the guns
  • The hunt manager does a lot of preparatory work to improve the quality of the shoot

The district is divided into 2 area, one is hilly moorlands, while the other is typical English farmland with woods and fields divided by living hedgerows.

It is an ideal habitat for pigeons. The results of the shoot is dependent on the weather, wind, how the crops are developing this season and not least on the marksmanship skills of the hunter.

Depending on the time of year, the shooting can be over different crops (oilseed rape, wheat and barley) or over stubble depending on where the pigeons are feeding at the time.

The best period for pigeon shooting in this district is around the end of July and the beginning of August. It is suited for groups of 2 - 4 hunters, and you shoot for 4 days. It is also possible to arrange some rabbit shooting.
