The south of France with the Mediterranean sea, and the mountains just inland, have been a fashionable destination for many years. It offers wonderful beaches, beautiful landscapes, charming towns and great good and wine, but up to now it has only given limited opportunities to hunt, unless you happened to know a local farmer..
hrough our well know French partners on Mauritius, we have recently secured the hunting rights for an exclusive district in the south of France, just 75km from Nice. It is also the perfect destination for a family holiday, as the rest of the family can enjoy all of Nice’s many attractions, while you are out chamois hunting. There are many good flight connections to Nice, and naturally we would be pleased to help you book flights.
Although the mountains north of Nice are not as high or as steep as the Alps, this can still be a strenuous and challenging hunt, so we recommend that our hunters here should be in good shape.
It is possible for 3 hunters to hunt here at the same time, and each hunter will of course have his own, experienced French guide..
The best time for Chamois hunting occurs from mid-October to the end of November, which is the chamois’ rutting season, but it is also possible to hunt between January and March.. Chamois Hunting primarily takes place at the weekend.
Both bucks and does are hunted (as both the male and the female of this species bare trophies), and our chamois hunting package includes a chamois, with no size limits, in the price. generally only mature animals of 8 years of age or above are hunted. Medal winning trophies (bronze and silver) are taken year annually
During the chamois hunt hunters stay in a so-called ”Burron”, an old picturesque stone built house up in the mountains. It is very comfortable and full-board and drinks are included in your stay.
We have the full annual quota of chamois at our disposal, and to top it all, we can offer this chamois hunt at a very attractive price.
Through our well known French partner in Mauritius we have now been granted access to an exclusive hunting district in the South of France just 75 km from Nice. This makes this tour absolutely perfect for a family holiday, as your family can enjoy the delights of Nice while you are out hunting. A wide range of flights to Nice are available, and we would be happy to help with making flight...
