King Eider

Scientific name: Somateria spectabilis

Distribution: The King Eider is found in the Arctic and subarctic coastal areas of the Northern Hemisphere, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Iceland, Greenland, and other Arctic regions.

Habitat: The King Eider primarily inhabits coastal areas, fjords, and other marine habitats in the Arctic and subarctic regions.

Description: The King Eider is a large seabird with a strikingly colorful plumage in males. The male's plumage includes a bluish-white body, a black head and neck, and an orange bill. Females and juveniles have a more subdued brown-speckled plumage.
